Bayanqolu promises support for Hongqi
I want intelligent Hongqi automobiles to be the first choice of young people, said Bayanqolu, Party chief of Northeast China’s Jilin province, at a meeting in Beijing on March 6.
The meeting was attended by a delegation from Jilin province, whose members are participating in the second sessions of the 13th CPPCC (Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference) National Committee and the 13th NPC (National People’s Congress).
Xu Liuping, chairman of China's leading automaker FAW Group, introduced Hongqi (meaning “red flag”), which is part of the group at the meeting.
He said that the company sold 33,000 cars in 2018, marking a 640 percent growth year on year, and it has set a target of selling 100,000 cars this year.
Bayanqolu asked about the technical capabilities of Hongqi vehicles, in an effort to learn how advanced the cars are.
According to Xu, intelligent technologies such as voice-controlled commands instead of keys, and automatic driving have been installed in the cars, and the company is focusing more on intelligent manufacturing.
Hongqi is a valuable national brand, and Jilin province will do its utmost to support the company’s innovation and development, Bayanqolu promised.
