A meeting to boost cooperation between Northeast China’s Jilin province and Japanese companies in China was held in Beijing on March 1.

Attendees at the meeting included Bayanqolu, Party chief of Jilin province; Jing Junhai, governor of Jilin province; Peng Gang, director of the Department of Asian Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, and Yasuteru Hirai, president of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, as well as a number of Japanese ambassadors to China.

Jilin remains an excellent place to invest, and we are currently looking for more opportunities to work with Japanese companies, as well as providing opportunities for Japanese firms and individuals to invest and start businesses here, said Bayanqolu.

The province will enact more preferential policies and better services for companies and professionals, he added.

Peng Gang said that Jilin province has a deep foundation in economic and trade cooperation between Southeast Asian countries including Japan, and the Ministry of Commerce will support Jilin’s cooperation with Japan in fields such as automobiles, modern agriculture, and equipment manufacturing.

Representatives from eight Japanese companies also addressed the meeting, introducing their products and plans to cooperate with the province.
