Bayanqolu, Party chief of Jilin province, and Governor Jing Junhai presided over the conference, reviewing the province's economic progress in 2018, analyzing the current economic climate, and creating a work plan for next year.

"2019 is the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China," said Bayanqolu. "It is also a critical year for Jilin's revitalization and development."

Jilin will work to maintain stable economic growth next year by continuing high-quality development and upgrading its traditional industrial base, said Bayanqolu.

Jing Junhai stressed that Jilin should make every use of the current economic environment to continue innovating and opening up, while also pushing for economic transformation and revitalization in rural areas.

Jiang Zelin, chairman of the Jilin provincial CPPCC, was also present at the conference.
