The agriculture transformation and modern agriculture development in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province has tremendously changed local people's production methods and lifestyle over the past 40 years since China's reform and opening-up.
Changchun has unparalleled agricultural conditions because it is located on one of the world's three "golden corn belts" with fertile soil. The per capita area of cultivated farmland in the city is 0.3 hectares, twice of the national average.

With support from the state and local financial subsidies in agriculture, the agricultural mechanization of Changchun has developed rapidly in recent years. A much more balanced rural economic structure has been established, and an innovation-driven development pattern has been formed.
Changchun is seeking further development through the rural revitalization strategy, supply-side structural reform, pursuing green agriculture, and implementing targeted poverty reduction measures, all of which present new demands for the city's agricultural science, technology and talent.
