According to Qu Yanjian, secretary-general of the Tonghua Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the event will show the great achievements made in the 40 years’ reform and opening-up, the investment environment and regional cultural and development potential of Tonghua and promote exchanges and cooperation between Tonghua and Taizhou.

Taizhou residents will be able to know and sense Taizhou in seven trade shows to be held in the tourism and cultural week which will integrate Tonghua characteristic resources and culture with Taizhou culture.

A theatrical performance, “Tonghua Impression” and a modern drama “Baby Returns Home”, adapted from the story of Zhang Baoyan and Qiang Yanyou, founders of the website of finding lost children, will be staged in Taizhou during the week.

Tonghua, located in the southeast of Jilin province in the east of Northeast China and facing the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) across the Yalu River, is a cultural city, a Koguryo culture heritage site and the birthplace of the Shamanism culture. It is also a red tourism city and a city for health owing to its ginseng, vino, mountains and rivers.
