Jilin rice was praised by China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi during Jilin's promotion conference held in Beijing on June 13.

Wang humorously remarked that he could smell the Jilin rice when he was still meters away from the booth.

Many people know that Japan rice tastes good but seldom know that Jilin can produce even better rice, Wang added.

The conference was intended to promote Jilin to the world in various aspects including natural resources, leading industries, education, and high technology.

During the conference Wang also mentioned winter sports, which have become more and more popular as China will host the Winter Olympics in 2022.

He said Jilin would turn into a snowy wonderland and will feature two of China's best ice resorts, which provides great opportunities for skiing enthusiasts.

Jilin's Party Secretary Bayin Chaolu and Governor Liu Guozhong also delivered speeches to promote the province and attract investors and tourists from all around the world.
