Traditional Spring Festival experience at lantern show
Lanterns in the High-tech Zone District, Changchun City of Jilin province, finally turned off on Feb 11 after a 24 day exhibition, marking the end of the first Winter Ice and Snow Lantern Show in the area.
The lantern show started in January, during which visitors appreciated amazing lantern art, watched traditional Chinese performances including lion dances and enjoyed the flourishing atmosphere of the Spring Festival.

The most fascinating part of the show was the 350 meter long lantern corridor in which 1,200 traditional lanterns, more than 2,400 light nets and over 1,000 light strings were on display.
The wonderland of lights attracted both tourists and locals, and was intended to offer people an opportunity to experience a traditional Spring Festival.
A native Changchun senior said he had not experienced such a lantern show for years, and he has already started to look forward to next year's show.
