Li had solved several issues in train manufacturing and obtained a reputation as the "High-Speed Train Welding Master".
The manufacturing technology of bogie is one of the nine core technologies for high speed trains. Li participated in several welding missions for CRH and welded steel perfectly. He then established regulations for more than 20 bogie welding techniques and solved more than 100 technological problems.
Li created a master skill to realize mass production of multi-jointed bogie manufacturing in 2007 and solved a technical problem for dozens of high-speed trains, railway carriages, and intercity rails. Some trains were even exported to other countries including Autralia, New Zealand, Brazil, Thailand, and Saudi Arabia.

He also contributes to cultivating younger generations to learn welding skills. He worked for high-speed train manufacturing while at the same time fostering new recruits to master welding skills over the past two years. More than 400 freshmen have successfully obtained international certificates in welding.
Li wrote his own textbook on carbon dioxide arc welding technological skills, which is easy to understand by students.
"Master Li demonstrates the welding actions repeatedly and even makes various training plans for students with different body types and welding gun use habits," Xie Yuanli, a student of Li Wanjun, said.
