The 12th Jilin Provincial People's Congress began its 6th session in the city of Changchun on Jan 15, during which Liu Guozhong, Deputy Secretary of CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, delivered the annual work report on achievements and goals on behalf of the provincial standing committee.

According to the report, Jilin province has yielded great success in socio-economics. Its provincial economics have been growing stably, with 6.9 percent in GDP growth, among which the added value of industries above a designated scale and fixed-asset investment increased by 6.3 percent and 10 percent respectively.

Grain output also set a record which reached 37.17 million tons, ranking top in China. Scientific progress accounted for 53.6 percent of economic growth and local government revenue increased by 2.8 percent.

People's livelihood was largely improved in 2016, as PCDI in cities and towns grew 6.5 percent and 7 percent respectively.

Jilin province will continue progress by focusing on six aspects in the New Year -- revitalization, supply-side structural reform, developing service industry, promoting the construction of ecological environment construction, better the construction of Jilin government and further improvement to people's livelihood.
