Honors for Alleno
Gault et Millau, one of the most prestigious restaurant guides since it's founding in 1965, has named Yannick Alleno as its Chef of the Year for 2015. Alleno, the celebrity chef who fronts S.T.A.Y. restaurant in the Shangri-La Beijing and the 101 Tower in Shanghai, has been a fixture in the guide since 2003 as culinary director of Alleno Paris at the Pavillon Ledoyen on the Champs-Elys��es, achieving five "toques" in the guide in 2010. "His thought process on French cuisine and its fundamentals, the sauces and his work on extractions mark a turning point, not only in his career but in today's vision of fine dining," the French guidebook said in an announcement.
