Other mains include the aforementioned meatballs (served with potatoes, beets and a smear of lingonberry jam), pan-fried sea bass, pan-fried goose liver, carefully sourced Australian beef, and roasted pork spare ribs with caramelized peach.

We finished our meal with the recommended dessert, apple tartare. This turned out to be a sextette of crisp-shelled tartlets, each jammed with apple, raisin and cinnamon goodness.

Moi is perched on the edge of the lake in the middle of Dangdai Moma. Open till 11 pm, it's very handy for combing dinner and a movie-the Moma theater is just next door. The restaurant's interior employs real birch trunks to re-create a Finnish birch forest along the windows, which diners peer through to enjoy the waterside view.
