Seventy-two projects of Jiangxi Normal University were recently approved by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and received 24.14 million yuan($3.6 million) in funding. Both numbers were records in the university's history.
The number of the university's approved projects ranked 112 among all institutes of higher learning nationwide, fifth among all normal universities, and second among universities in Jiangxi.
Thirteen of the 72 projects were from the university's physics, communications and electronics institute, 12 from its chemical engineering institute, nine from the mathematics and information science institute, eight from the computer information engineering institute, eight from the life science institute, seven from the geography and environment institute, five from the software institute, three from the psychology institute, two from the city and construction institute, two from the business institute, one from the financial and monetary institute, one from key high-performance lab and one from the political science and law institute.
The steadily increasing NSFC-funded projects are a result of the university's persistent efforts in scientific research. They have paved the way for the university's natural science research over the 2016-2020 period.
