Seven major strategically emerging industries in Central China's Hunan province achieved an annual combined operating income of 1.017 trillion yuan ($162.77 billion) in 2014, a year-on-year growth of 11.1 percent.
Among them, the contribution of Changsha city, the provincial capital, reached 380.44 billion yuan ($60.92 billion), accounting for 37.4 percent, according to Hunan Provincial Bureau of Statistics.
The seven major strategic emerging industries in Hunan province are: advanced equipment manufacturing, new material, cultural and creative industry, bio industry, new energy, information, as well as energy conservation and environmental protection industries.
The Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan city cluster is the leading area for the development of the mentioned industries in Hunan, taking up more than 85 percent of the provincial total in terms of incomes.
