March 8 is International Women's Day. Sun Jinlong, deputy secretary of Hunan provincial Party committee, came to Changsha county and Kaifu district of Changsha city on March 7, visiting woman at the grass-roots level in urban and rural areas, and sending them festival greetings and wishes.

Yi Lianhong, member of the Standing Committee and secretary of the municipal Party committee, Chen Xianchun and Xia Jianping, city leaders of Changsha, accompanied Sun's visit.

Firstly, they visited the "Home for Women" community ---Xincheng Integrated Service Center for Marriages and Families. This community adopted a managment mode of "woman workers plus social workers plus voluntary workers",providing families and women personalized services, such as training, legal aiding, health caring, psychological counseling, etc., which was warmly welcomed by community residents.

 Sun Jinlong, with Yi Lianhong, inaugurated the Hunan Violence and Crisis Intervention Center. As a trail project of the Domestic Violence Crisis Intervention Center under the China-Australia cooperation of the ACWF (the All-China Women's Federation), the Center united with professionals, like social workers, lawyer volunteers, etc., to deal with the violence cases, protecting legitimate rights of women.

There are 1276 women in Jinkengqiao village, Fulin town, Changsha county, which is a national model village. Women in this village participated actively in the new rural construction, establishing vegetable cooperative and the "Women Brand" standardized vegetable base via a mode of "cooperative-base-peasant household",which increases income of women.

In the discussion with woman cadres at the grass-roots level in rural areas, poor women, and woman college-graduate village officials, Sun Jinlong said that women in rural areas now became the main force for the new rural construction and a group of excellent women at the grass-roots level stand out from the crowd. Therefore, Party committees at all levels must devote greater effort to the training for rural women, searching for a new way to lead women to the new rural construction and making them a peculiar sight on the stage of the new rural construction.

During the visiting, Sun Jinlong sent women his sincere wishes and blessings, hoping them play a key role in the economic development of Hunan province, devote themselves into all-round deepening reform, hold up half the sky in economic construction and make contributions to the task of building a well-off society in an all-round way.
