Changsha county made an across-the-board increase of unemployment insurance benefits during the year of 2015, according to the local department of human resources and social security, csxrmt.com reported on Feb 9.
Changsha county raised the unemployment insurance benefits from 916 yuan to 1,000 yuan ($160) per month as of Jan 1, 2015. This is the twelfth increase of unemployment insurance since 2003 in the county, a sub-district of Changsha, the capital city of Central China's Hunan province.
"Those who lose their jobs can receive unemployment insurance compensation within an allotted time period, 24 months at most. This time period is calculated according to the length of years they have paid for the insurance premium." said the principal of Changsha county's unemployment service center.
Additionally, the unemployment insurance fund also pays for medical insurance for those who get the unemployment insurance benefit.
