Changsha county in Hunan province has completed the main construction of a building to house national-level archives that will open in 2015.
Local government gave a press conference on Jan 8 to update the public about the new national archives and its building.
The new archives will be equipped with, among others, a digital sand table and a three dimensional exhibition hall with high-tech sound and lights system, showcasing the long history and culture of Changsha county to the visitors, Chen Jiwei, the deputy head of the county announced during the press conference.
The county will also start to compile the Almanac of Changsha County (2015), starting from February, and publish the 2014 volume before March.
Apart from these, the local archive chronicle bureau will also hold a series of commemorations, including the 120th anniversary of Li Weihan's birth (1896-1984), a well-known proletarian revolutionist, ideologist and outstanding political leader, and the 70th anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
