The city of Changsha in Hunan province recently established a care association for special groups such as the ex-cons, drug addicts, homeless juveniles, and AIDZ patients.
The association was initiated by Changsha municipal justice department. Xie Zhaohui, the dept's deputy-director, said that the city has around 80,000 people from the said groups, who are not only high-risk groups to social stability, but also key objects that need special attention and care.
As a non-profit social organization composed of volunteers who are currently from more than 20 enterprises, it aims to integrate societal forces such as benevolent people, lawyers, psychologists, and philanthropist to provide special group people with professional services, including skills for employability, psychological counselling, and law knowledge, in a bid to enhance their social adaptation.
