An underground cultural business plaza will be built below the Tianhan Grand Theater in Changsha, Hunan province. Construction work of the project, which is being co-developed by Changsha Broadcast and Television Group and Changsha Metro Group, started on Dec 23 and will be completed in May, 2016.
As Changsha enters the metro era, the development and utilization of underground business spaces has played an active role in saving land resources, expanding development space, optimizing municipal facilities, easing traffic pressure, increasing job opportunities, and enhancing the city's overall protective ability.
The Tianhan Grand Theater underground project is next to the interchange station of Metro Lines 1 and 3, and has a construction area of 10,491 square meters. The total investment for the project is around 160 million yuan ($25.69 million).
As a key project under the municipal government plan in 2014, it is expected to enhance the cultural brand of Tianhan, as well as to boost the popularity and cultural atmosphere of the Tianhan Grand Theatre.
