Changsha metro is about to usher in its first Christmas Day and New Year's Day since opening. The Changsha Metro Group announced on Dec 18 that on Dec 24 (Christmas' Eve) and Dec 31 (New Year's Eve), the operating times of the Metro Line 2 will be prolonged to 24:00 from the current 22:30.

Based on the characteristics of passenger flows over holidays, it is expected that the stations that are close to the business centers, such as Wuyi Square Station, will see large traffic flows from 5 pm to 12 pm on Dec 24, and the stations that can interchanged with communication hubs is likely to have large passenger flows on Dec 31.

The Changsha Metro Group has made up response plans in aspects such as train dispatching and passenger organization in regardi to traffic on the two dates, Changsha Evening News reported.
