Construction work of Songya Lake Road and Wuliu Road in Changsha county will start in 2015, which will form a loop route with Wanjiali Road, bringing more opportunities for the northern part of Xingsha Economic and Technological Development district, Xingsha News reported on Nov 24.
It's now easier for residents to go to Songya Lake with the completion of the Xiangdi Road, a secondary trunk road with a four-lane dual carriageway. Located on the west bank of Songya Lake, Xiangdi Road connects Binhu Road to the south and Laodaohe Road to the north, covering a total length of 2.25 kilometers.
The planned Songya Lake Road will start from the intersection of Xiangdi and Laodanghe Road, and stretch northward to meet with the planned Wuliu Road (phase II). When completed, it will relieve the traffic pressure on the north-south G107 highway.
Wuliu Road (phase II) will start from the G107 highway to the west and end with Songya Lake Road to the east. Through the first phase of Wuliu Road that has already opened to traffic, the whole route will connect to Wanjiali North Road, making itself into a main trunk road running east-west.
At present, interchanges are being built to connect Wanjiali Road and the North Third Ring Road (an expressway circling Changsha), and are expected to be open to traffic in 2015.
The Songya Lake Road in the east, Wuliu Road in the north and Wanjiali Road in the west form a "small loop line", which efficiently uses and mobilizes the local land resources and will provide convenient transportation for Xingsha's northward development in the future.
The county aims to form a new center within the Third Ring Road and attract a large number of high quality projects to launch there.
Meanwhile, the scenic belts along the Laodao River will be under construction from 2015. The scenic belt along the south bank of the River which surrounds the Songya Lake will start construction in 2015, and the north part in 2016.
