Steven Spazuk, a Canadian artist, uses flame of a candle as a pencil to sculpt the plumes of soot left behind into various shapes.
Spazuk is internationally known as the "Fire Painter". Since 2001, Spazuk has been pushing the boundaries of the unique technique called "fumage".
His paintbrush is the flame of a candle. As it touches a blank sheet, it leaves traces of carbon black.
In some of his more recent work, Spazuk has drawn simpler subjects, such as birds and masks.
