Chinese oil painter Wang Hongjian was born in 1955. Aside from winning recognition from home and abroad, including four top awards at China's National At Exhibition and an honorary prize from the Russian Academy of Sciences, several works by Wang have been sold at auction, including "Spring Snow" at Sotherby's New York "Contemporary Art Asia" in 2006 for $60,000.
