Mooving through the cow parade

Cow King: Jerry Elbaum is bringing the Cow Parade to China.

One of his favorite pieces among the cows on parade all over the world is "Daisy's Dream", from the exhibit in New York in 2000.

It stands 14 feet tall, standing on one hind foot in a leap upward, with a Frisbee in her mouth.

"Because Daisy grew up in Central Park in New York – that's where she grazed," Elbaum explains. At least, that is the story he likes to tell. The artist who created Daisy's Dream studied the musculature of a cow to create the piece that is so well-balanced "that you can't tip her over".

"Daisy saw the dogs and their owners playing Frisbees in the park, and thought why can't a cow do what dogs do?

"She studied the dogs she practiced and she was able to get up on her one leg.

"And one day a dog owner came into the park, and threw the Frisbee to the dog, and she leapt up and she got it.

"Daisy is the only cow in the world who can do this." Elbaum used to tell the story to his grandchildren when they were younger.

Daisy who represents the "can-do" spirit was the most popular of 500 cows during the New York exhibit, and now she stands in the Cow Parade office in the company's headquarters.
