3. Master Dongguo
The story is about a traveling scholar, Mr. Dongguo, saving a wounded wolf. But the starving wolf pounced on Mr. Dongguo and intended to eat him. When Mr. Dongguo protested at the wolf's ingratitude, the wolf presented the argument: If the wolf has nothing to eat it will die. Since the scholar saved its life once why not do it again? Finally, Mr. Dongguo is saved by a famer passing by. The painting depicts the scene where the famer kills the wolf and tells Mr. Dongguo to not trust beasts any more.
