( China Daily ) Updated: 2012-05-04 10:19:10

The Beijing World Art Museum is staging an exhibition of ancient furniture.

The five-part show presents more than 30 well-preserved pieces, most of which are wooden beds and chairs.

The show is meant to offer visitors a glimpse of the history, craftsmanship, relevant literature and philosophy associated with the furniture. It also provides insight into ancient Chinese lifestyles.

The event is organized by the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the Chinese Culture Research Society, the Guanfu Museum and the Beijing World Art Museum.

9 am-5 pm, until May 20. Beijing World Art Museum, China Millennium Monument, A9 Fuxinglu, Haidian district, Beijing. 010-5980-2222.
