'The Ballad of Canal'
The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal with a history of over 2,500 years is an artificial miracle created by ancient Chinese, apart from the Great Wall.
The NCPA opera The Ballad of Canal describes the ups and downs of people along the canal, their joys and sorrows, good and evil, life and death. The show integrates Chinese opera, folk songs and folk customs, showing the unique artistic texture and charisma of folk operas.
