After a seven-year hiatus, Chinese singer-songwriter Guo Ding released his new album, The Silent Star Stone, in Beijing on Dec 7.
Inspired by aircraft data recorders, Guo wrote 10 songs, including Fallen Man, Put Your Face Down and The Fog Space, which combine rock, folk and rhythm and blues.
"The data recorder is a device used to record aircraft performance. What if we had such recording devices in people? They would record our daily lives, the people we see, sounds we hear and the food we eat," Guo, 31, says of his inspiration behind the album.
Guo has released two studio albums since 2005.
