The 11th China Art Festival concluded in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province on Oct 31, 2016. It is the highest-level art festival in China.
A series of awards ceremonies, performances, exhibitions and trade fairs were held during the festival in the past half a month.
The China Art Festival is an important national cultural and art showcase for ordinary people throughout the country.
Approved by the Chinese government, the festival was initiated in the autumn of 1987. The first China Art Festival was held in Beijing. Afterwards it was held every two years.
This year, the festival was co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the Shaanxi provincial government.
