Sotheby's Chinese Works of Art Autumn Sales 2016 will take place on October 5 in Hong Kong, offering close to 300 lots with total sales estimated at $US80 million, among which an imperial seal would be the biggest highlight.
The imperial Khotan jade seal, called "Grand Emperor's Treasure" (in Chinese:太上皇帝之宝), was owned by the Qianglong Emperor (AD1711—1799) from the Qing Dynasty (AD1636-1912) and is estimated to fetch between $US10 to $US15 million. The seal was displayed during an auction preview on September 08.
