Chinese treasures on show in Qatar

116 Chinese antiques dating from Neolithic age to the Qing Dynasty will be on display in Qatar as part of Qatar China 2016. [Photo provided to China Daily]

The exhibition is made possible under a Years of Culture program run by Qatar Museums,a government body supervising museums, art exchanges and cultural heritage in Qatar. Every year the program presents exchange activities in cooperation with a partner country.

So far the Qatar China 2016 has staged a Chinese contemporary art exhibition curated by Cai Guoqiang and a show of Chinese silk art. A Qatari exhibition about the history of cultivating pearls and crafting pearl jewelry will open at Beijing's National Museum of China on Sept 27.
