The production team spent two years creating the opera, basing it on the descriptions in Fo Guo Ji.
After the premier in Beijing, the opera will be staged in Qingdao in Shandong province on July 29-30. The national tour will follow.
The dance opera is a work inspired by China's Belt and Road Initiative.
