The sixth festival celebrating Chinese New Year was held on Jan 17 at the Bergara Theater in Viniar Delmar, a famous tourist destination in Chile. At the event, China's Jilin Art Troupe entertained audiences with ethnic dance, featuring distinctive elements of traditional Chinese culture.
Before the gala show, souvenirs were given to audience including booklets with stories of the Spring festival, folding fans, inflatable sticks and bracelets.
In bright ethnic costumes, Chinese artists brought a visual feast to the local audiences by presenting classic Chinese dances and ethnic dances of Jilin province. With a famous local song as its background music, the dance Thank Living brought the whole night to a climax.
Jilin Art Troupe's visit to Chile is part of the effort to promote Chinese culture to the world, playing a significant role in strengthening diplomatic relationships and facilitating cultural communication and cooperation between China and countries along One Belt, One Road.
As the opening of the China-Latin American Culture Year, the troupe will give a total of eight shows in eight cities throughout Chile, including the 23rd International Art Festival in Santiago and the sixth cultural week of Chinese New Year celebrations in Viniar Delmar.
Chinese Ambassador to Chile Li Baorong, Mayor of Viniar Delmar Reginaldo, the president of St. Thomas University and nearly ten thousand residents and tourists enjoyed the show.
