British band Muse, with a history of pushing the limits through fusion music, is all set to pack the punch in Beijing and Shanghai later this month.

The band, whose key members are vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist Matthew Bellamy, drummer Dominic Howard and bassist Chris Wolstenholme, are known for the utilization of symphonies, choirs and synthesizers to create rock sounds. It will be their first tour of China, according to Wolstenholme.

"There will be a large catalogue of songs to pick from, and it will be an overview of all of our albums," he told China Daily by e-mail ahead of the shows.

With seven studio albums that sold more than 15 million copies worldwide and a string of awards later, Muse is a big name on the global band scene.

Supporting visuals have always been a part of their previous gigs, and audiences in China may be looking forward to it as well.

The English county of Devon is where the band began in the early 1990s. Their successful debut album, Showbiz, was released toward the end of that decade and featured singles such as Sunburn and Unintended.

One of their biggest moments came in 2012, when they performed their song, Survival, at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in London.

"We also did part of the torch relay in our hometown and loved every second (of it)," Wolstenholme said in the same mail.
