Li Ling's Schoolchildren in Borderland is a collection of photos that, "in a moving and authentic way, describe how difficult it is for children in remote villages to go to school, and the elementary schools in remote villages can always evoke one's nostalgic emotion to land and villages".
Li Tieqiang's Returning depicts the herdsmen in Northwest China. Judges declared it a winner because of "the force and grandness it represents with the massive land and the magnificent cloudy sky in the photo", and "the nostalgic emotion that is condensed in the herdsman's glance at the sheep and children in the further place".
Until Sept 11, participants can either go to Shanghai and Shenzhen to submit their works on the scene, or upload their works online to compete for the final round.
