A Song Dynasty tomb has been discovered recently at Baisha town in Chongqing. It is a rectangle double-chamber tomb measuring 8.5 meters in length, 7.5 meters in width and 3 meters in height.
Several exquisite engravings have been found inside the tomb, which show that the tomb owner was possibly a person of high social status.
Many carved warriors with stern faces have also been discovered, who, an archeologist said, were probably the guards of the grave. Such a huge and complicated structured tomb decorated with delicate carvings is quite rare, according to a local archeologist taking part in the excavation work.
The tomb was raided before as some fragments were found inside the tomb.
