During the past two sessions in China, several proposals regarding maternity leave were submitted, one of the most noteworthy one was that maternity leave in China should be extended to three years, which is a great leap compared with the current 3 months. As was expected, the suggestion stirred a heated discussion in media. And it raises questions like how much time is reasonable for maternity leave? How can women better cope with their career after taking that time off?
