China's Elite Int'l Charity Gala for Chinese New Year to kick off

The China's Elite International Charity Gala for the Chinese New Year will be staged in Beijing on Feb 8, according to the latest announcement by the Chinese Elite International Federation and the Global CEO Association on Dec 26.

To deliver the message of love to all and to build a harmonious society, the charity gala will focus on "empty-nest elderly" (the elderly without children around to look after them) and "children in poverty". Around 600 representatives of elites of all social circles will be present, including well-known philanthropists Chen Guangbiao and Li Chunping, who are contributing their efforts to charity cause.

The event is part of a series of activities of "Retracing the Glassland Silk Road" and politicians, scholars and entrepreneurs of the countries along the historical road will be invited.

The gala will start at 2 pm at Beijing CCTV Media Centre.
