Fan Yifu on show
Fan Yifu's solo exhibition at the National Art Museum of China displays his latest creations of the mountain and water genre. Born in Beijing, Fan, 51, learned Chinese traditional painting under the discipline of noted painter Liu Jilu, who specialized in portraying figures and animals. Fan went to Japan to study art history in 1988, and relocated in Paris in the 1990s. There he further studied and practiced Chinese painting, while seeking additional inspiration from Western art.

Works on children
French sculptor and painter Pierre Carron, 83, is presenting a world of innocence and fantasy through his dozens of oil paintings of children, which are shown at the National Art Museum of China. He created illusive scenes in which time and space, colors and lights were interwoven. The works are bursting with passion for life and art. Carron studied at the School of Fine Arts in Paris in 1951. He was elected chairman of the Academy of Fine Arts in 2002.
