The 13th Chorus Art Festival, or "Dec 9" Chorus, successfully concluded at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) in Nanchang city on Saturday night, with the presence of vice governor of Jiangxi province Zhu Hong and top school officials.

The red songs chorus, an annual event at JUFE, was launched on Dec 9, 1985, by the school party committee to mark the 50th anniversary of the December 9th Movement to Resist Japan and Save the Nation.

The tradition has been carried on for 30 years in the campus with the singing of red songs, which are patriotic songs in praise of the motherland and the Chinese communist party.

Each year, the event is held under a specific theme, which combines singing red songs and significant revolutionary historical events.

The school hopes that, through the activity, students can draw a correct perception of history and enhance their understanding of the socialist core values.

This year's chorus had a good selection of songs, which enabled teachers and students to review China's socialist path and the development of China.

With China entering the critical moment for an all-around and deepened reform period, it requires more of the traditional revolutionary spirit embodied in the red songs to motivate students in JUFE to be fearless of dangers and difficulties.

The event also helps to realize JUFE's dream as a century-old famous university and to realize the China Dream, the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation.
