French novelist and playwright Honoré de Balzac drank a lot of coffee while writing. It's estimated he consumed more than 50,000 cups during his lifetime and caffeinism was considered one of the causes of his death in 1850 aged 51. His works include The Human Comedy and The Chouans. |
