Life on the river
American mixed-media installation artist Margaret Cogswell was the artist in residence for two months at Zhujiajiao in suburban Shanghai. Cogswell looked for links to China's history and culture through details seen in objects, food, music and movements in daily life and rituals. Viewing life on the river in the water town, through fragmented antique window frames, these details inspired her new work, Zhujiajiao River Poems.
