Shanghai Grand Theater will open its new season with an opera production of Manon Lescaut from the Royal Opera House of Britain. The new production, co-created by the Royal Opera House, Shanghai Grand Theater and Shanghai Opera House, brings Puccini's creation to the 21st century, when Manon swings between a man she loves and another who is wealthy. She is then set up and banished, before dying in the arms of her true love.
