Lang Lang was very surprised by the crushing defeat Brazil suffered at the hands of Germany.
"I was just speechless, nobody saw it coming. It think it was an intense emotional experience," Lang Lang said.
"That's just like music, that it excites you and surprises you. That's the beauty of both football and music. Things happen really fast in football, you have to make decisions in a split second, that's also like playing the piano, you are in constant movement, but you have be very clear about where you want to go with your music."
For Lang Lang, music closely resonates with football as both involve coordination, rhythm and passion.
"When playing the piano, the fingers are constantly working together, and there are endless possible combinations. But it's not just about technique but also passion. Both music and football gives you a strong drive for greatness. So it involves both skill and passion," he said.
Though the World Cup has come to a close, the passion for the game will live on, and so will the music and songs that brought it to life.
