LONDON -- The Sundance Film Festival, which aims to promote independent films and filmmakers, will return to London for a third successive year in 2014, organizers have announced.
The festival will be held on April 25-27 at the 02 Arena, a 20,000-capacity venue in East London where the previous two were held, said John Cooper, director of the Sundance Film Festival.
"We look with great excitement to hosting the third Sundance London in April. In keeping with the event's purpose of celebrating independent artists, the Short Film Competition and workshop allow us to tap into the vibrant artistic community in the UK and connect that work with audiences at the festival," Cooper said.
London Sundance is a spin-off from the 22-year-old Sundance Festival held annually in Park City, Utah, in the United States. As well as hosting films straight from the Utah festival, the London offshoot will host live music, panel discussions and special events.
