South Korea will be the Country of Honor at the Beijing International Book Fair running from Aug 29 to Sept 2. It will lead a series of cultural exchanges and forums.

Sixty-three publishers and 13 established writers from South Korea will attend the fair. Also, 2012 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and South Korea.

The Beijing book fair (in its 19th edition this year) has become an increasingly important player on the world's publishing scene. The fair has so far drawn 2,000 publishers and relevant organizations from 63 countries, while countries like the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan and France intend to set up stands for a collective show of their books and cultures.

Stephenie Meyer, author of the Twilight series, may be a special guest at the fair, according to the organizer.

Digitization will be the main theme for this year's seminar. The fair will also present events, such as a publishing forum and Literature Night to celebrate the gathering of writers, publishers and readers.
