In the glass showcases, items for daily use such as a pot used for cooking the wild herbs, the straw sandals and tools for producing them, a bugle and a telephone, are on display.
Fu Boyu, 62, a businessman and a collector of "red" relics related to the country's revolution, started the private Changsha County Boyu Wanfuyuan Museum in 2005.
The items currently on exhibit were collected by Fu along the Long March routes in Tongdao and Longhui counties in Hunan, Quanzhou county in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, and Zunyi in Guizhou province.
"The Long March was full of hardships, and the objects used at that time were usually of little value," Fu said. The objects have become priceless for him and each has a story, he said.
