Lack of deputies from grassroots
"We lack deputies from the provincial People's Congress who are actual farmers and workers, from the grassroots. Some people who are business owners get nominated as deputies because they identify as farmers or workers," Wang Ercheng, vice-head of the Organization Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said at a panel discussion during the two sessions on Tuesday.
He claims the real grassroots members who meet the nominating standard can't get nominated due to lack of supervision in the election.
