Responding to a question that raised US requests for Chinese enterprises in the US to reveal security-related data while Washington opposed a Chinese draft law asking US companies to do the same, NPC spokeswoman Fu Ying said at a press conference on Wednesday that it is good to see US President Barack Obama paying attention to China's anti-terrorism legislation but there are misunderstandings.
The Chinese government, Fu said, is concerned about obstacles faced by Chinese enterprises that operate overseas and she found that some senators or members of the House of Representatives who criticized Chinese companies didn't really understand the situation. Fu said the anti-terrorism law is under review and the regulation regarding the Internet will be in line with international practice and will not harm the legal interests of businesses.
