Beijing will build its Seventh Ring Road, a move to integrate the transportation network connecting Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province, the Beijing Times reported on Thursday.
The plan was announced by Gao Jinghao, head of the Hebei provincial transport department, during an online interview on June 25. The ring road will stretch 940 kilometers and it will connect Langfang, Zhuozhou, Zhangjiakou, Chengde, Pinggu and other cities in the area.
The seventh ring road is part of a transport integration plan which will cut the travel time between Beijing, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang - capital of Hebei province - to just about one hour.
It is one of the two planned ring roads in the Beijing-Tianjin-and-Hebei region, with another - outer one - about 1,250 km, linking cities around Beijing, including Tianjin, Langfang, Baoding, Zhangjiakou, Chengde and Tangshan.
