Five passengers were slightly injured as their train derailed on Thursday morning in Qingyuan City, in south China's Guangdong Province, due to a landslide, said the rail authorities.
At about 5 am Thursday, the T171 Nanchang-Guangzhou train encountered a rainstorm-triggered landslide near Qingyuan, according to the Guangzhou Railway Group Corporation.
The 12th carriage derailed with five passengers found injured due to the accident.
The corporation has initiated the emergency plan. The rescue work is under way.
All passengers have been transferred to nearby stations and are ready to continue on to their original destination, Guangzhou.
